I am throwing a luau for my 21st birthday in October, does anyone have any good websites or advice for me?

I don't plan on having alcohol because I am still at my parents house and they don't want a bunch of drunk kids over and I am thinking of just doing some fun appetizers as the food served. (We are going to the bar after the party) Anything anyone can think of or knows places for good cheap party favors (shot glasses or luau favors) would be amazing!! Thanks a ton!!I am throwing a luau for my 21st birthday in October, does anyone have any good websites or advice for me?
Here's a good source and Happy Birthday!I am throwing a luau for my 21st birthday in October, does anyone have any good websites or advice for me?
Look up Oriental tradings on the web. They have great luau stuff,I have bought from them before.Have a wonderful time planning the party.
Oriental Trading Company. I believe the website is www.orientaltradingcompany.com but, you can google it. They have a huge selection of decorations, favors, glasses, shot glasses, even grass skirts and coconut tops. And everything is really cheap.
You need to have a good barbecue going wth big honey glazed hams. Also, check out the garden section of Home Deopt or Lowes, they have pretty good deals on Tiki-torches (about 5 bucks a pop). Can't have a luau without torches. Suggest that guests dress up in hawaiian tribal gear like grass skirts and warpaint, or at least touristy in bermuda shorts and hawaiian shirts.

Most of all, you need SHISHKABOB! no luau is complete without them. Dice up some green and red peppers, squash, beef and ham cutlets and stick them on a kabob stick with big mushrooms and such. If there's no alcohol allowed, I suggest fruit punch, soda and pineapple juice be available... maybe pineapple floats with vanilla icecream.

As for decorations, think festive with lots of loas hanging above their heads... you can tie them to the gutters or staple them to the shingles on the roof and stretch them out over the area you're partying in. Try to avoid modern and cheesy calypso music and steer more towards world music with tribal congo drums... more authentic... unless your guests riot without their favorite songs playing.

But aye... key is the barbecue ham, pork and beef and kabobs. without those, it's just not a luau.
